The owner of this lovely chocolate box cottage in Beaulieu enlisted our help to select key pieces of antique furniture to complete the design following an extensive renovation. We visited the site when the works were in full swing to get a feel for the property, it’s character and layout. This really helped when we were out buying, as we were able to take into account the quirky features of the property ensuring the proportions and style of old and new furniture worked seamlessly together.
The property was featured in the November issue of 25 Beautiful Homes, showcasing how the use of antique furniture and accessories with their age and natural patina bring together the different styles and finishes creating an authentic and comfortable home. The use of rich tones and sumptuous fabrics throughout the cottage provided a natural backdrop.
With our list, tape measure and a flask of tea we set off to some of our favourite and trusted antique trade fairs. Feeling confident in our knowledge and experience and by sticking to our rules of comfort, function and style we sourced some unique and interesting pieces.
