Bowden Knight winter update

A busy Autumn for Bowden Knight

We have been working on a wide range of local projects this year - from window displays for local independents to sourcing antique furniture for commercial premises.

We were delighted to see Chestnut Cottage, a wonderful period property we supplied antique furniture to earlier this year, featured in the November issue of 25 Beautiful Homes. The owner of this holiday bolt hole in the New Forest enlisted our help to source key pieces of furniture to complete the design. The use of antiques alongside new furniture created an authentic and comfortable home.

Window Dressing - Winchester

A lovely local project working with Emma from Window Dressing to create an updated and fresh shop front to complement her craftsmanship and stunning range of fabrics.

Incorporating Emma's vintage sewing machine into the design, we sourced an old sewing box with original silk lining along with antique stools and baskets as a back drop in the windows of this quaint building.

The Globe Wernicke Bookcase

Well known for its quality and craftsmanship, the Globe Wernicke was manufactured from around 1900 to 1950. The modular and stackable design offers great versatility, which is why it is often referred to as the elastic bookcase.

Often in oak and aged to a rich and warm shade the bookcases proudly display the makers distinctive label. The glass panel lift doors originally designed to keep books dust free offer a practical and stylish storage and display solution for anything from handbags to kitchenalia.

We love this antique two piece Globe Wernicke bookcase with it's simple moulded top and a shaped plinth incorporating a useful drawer currently available to buy on the Bowden Knight website.

Martin & Co - Letting and Estate Agent, Winchester

With a move to a newly renovated period property on the Romsey Road, Director -Julian Bessey, was looking to draw on the character and history of Winchester and the period features of the building.

Bowden Knight were enlisted to source period antique furniture and individual picture collections to create a welcoming and unique experience to it's clients. These pieces sit harmoniously along side the functional and practical modern office furnishings.

Something on your wish list? Please give us a call to discuss, we are regularly out sourcing antiques and accessories for projects and individuals so we'd be delighted to keep an eye out for you. Alternatively give us a call and come and see us at the studio.

Best wishes,

Mia & Tanya
