Summer Is Here

 

It's been a good start to the summer so far ... let's hope the good weather continues so we can all enjoy some lazy sunny beach days and alfresco dining. 

This summer we are loving these blousy and very beautiful Peonies in the BK studio, with their layers and layers of petals against the rich mahogany of our antique furniture. They really are a seasonal favourite.

Bowden Knight & Etre Creative 

We are delighted to be working with local interior design company Etre Creative. We have been busy sourcing for one of their exciting projects in the New Forest.

We love that Etre are promoting and placing Decorative Antiques within their projects, this is a great endorsement of how antiques can add depth and soul to an interior.    

Etre Creative are involved in a wide variety of impressive projects, the latest being the complete redesign of the Forte Kitchen in Winchester.

1950's Decorative Convex Mirrors

Also known as the 'Butler Mirror', they would have been placed above a sideboard in the dining room allowing the butler to keep a discrete eye on guests without being imposing.

Whilst the convex mirror distorts the image that they reflect they also magnify the light and are therefore highly functional in today's interiors. 

At Bowden Knight we like to group them together to create a beautiful and unique feature.

Lastest Obsession ... Antique Prints 

 

We are a little too obsessed with flowers but it's hard not to be when you come across such beautiful antique prints. These copper engraved / lithograph prints came in black and white and then would have been painstakingly coloured by hand giving them an amazing finish and depth. 

We are currently putting together a collection for the studio ... watch this space!
